What a week!

What a week! Author duties have been on the back burner as I've been ill. Ended up in hospital last Sunday (I'm okay), but almost back at 100% and got to celebrate a great birthday this weekend, albeit a sober one (still on anti-biotics).

My 3rd and last book in the Synergy Series is up for sale now so I'm just excitedly checking sales and trying to get back to writing my current book, while trying to decide what to do with my other completed work. I've been sending out to traditional publishers but had a fair few rejections and I'm just too impatient! Currently sending out to beta readers so at least I can get some feedback in the meantime while I make my decision.

The full Synergy Series is available at the below links:

ARC Copy to ALL Readers

I will be publishing Synergy Part 3 soon, and I would like to reward all my amazing readers by providing them with an ARC of the book. All you have to do is send me your email, I will then send everybody a copy before the book is released to Amazon.

Comment below or send an email to : georgiapayne.author@gmail.com

Although it's not required, a review of the first two books to Amazon and/or Goodreads would be hugely appreciated.

BOOK REVIEW: The Sleep: Part I: The Fan & The Things That Hit It by Rose Catherine

You know when you come across a book and you wonder why it hasn't been published yet? This is totally one of them. The author has such a natural way with words. It's so effortless, and I believe everything that happens.

Evie, the main character, is just a normal teenage girl who is at school one day when everybody 16 and over falls asleep, out of the blue. It's some sort of epidemic worldwide, and nobody has a clue why it's happened. Evie is now responsible for her younger brother, and sets off to rescue her parents from wherever they've fallen asleep.

The story itself is really thought provoking. What would happen in a world where there are no adults? How would everybody cope? What would disappear first? The things we take for granted like the internet and phone lines slowly start to cut out, and the world becomes desperate.

So much happens in this first book and it's hard to believe it all takes place over the space of a week. With a rescued kid under her wing, an annoying class mate, and two new dogs, she has a lot to contend with. I loved reading this book, and now that I've seen there's a part 2, I'm going to be reading that one next. It's on amazon at just 99p, so it's an absolute bargain. I'd tell everybody to read it.

Smashwords Premium Catalogue

Accepted! Finally!

Smashwords has been an absolute nightmare for me this week. I read everything you could read on formatting for Smashwords, convinced it couldn't be that hard, that I could do it myself. I definitely couldn't. Finally, I succumbed to paying someone on people per hour, and after days of back and forth messages, I'm in the premium catalogue.

I can't even tell you how relieved I am, because it was really starting to annoy me. Generally, you'd view Amazon as a bigger company than Smashwords, yet their formatting is so much simpler. I don't understand.

Part 2 of Synergy is getting closer to the end, and I'm eager to finish it so I can go back through and edit. I recently wrote my most favourite chapter to date, and I'm loving how Dee and Jason's journey is going. I already know there's going to be at least a third book, because their story is still not told, that's for sure.

I finished shift 4 of 8 at work today, so I'm relaxing with a well deserved glass of wine now. Unfortunately, it means I'm not going to get much writing done next week either, but what can you do.

Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to my first ever blog post on my author site. This really isn't anything new to me, since I've blogged regularly for over a year, however, I've never done it specifically about myself. For a while now I've shared my author news on my blog's social media, but I figured it was about time to establish a blog for my books alone.

If you've never heard of me, that's expected, since writing as an author is very new to me. My first e-book 'Synergy' was self-published on Kindle on May 26th 2015, and in just under 3 weeks I've managed to earn myself a good amount of pocket money (that's all I'm seeing this venture as so far.) Previous to posting it on Kindle, I've had over 8,000 people read it at Wattpad, and considering it's 'mature' rating restricts it from showing up in searches, I'm very happy with that number. I've had some lovely comments from some lovely people and am really enjoying getting my story out there.

I'm going to leave the first post at that. I don't want to scare you away! Thanks for reading; I hope you'll follow this blog for details of my writing journey.
